Puppy cake

This is the view of the other side of the Ben10 cake. The theme was puppy with purple as the main colour. All the decorations were in fondant.

I made 2 puppy, 1 boy and 1 girl playing with their bones. The girl puppy was scratching her head. The cake board was decorated in polka dots with 2 different tones of purple.

This little birdie sitting in a bowl was inspired by 'Littlest pet shop' toy. I really love Littlest pet shop toy, they are really cute. Now I'm planning to make more Littlest pet shop decorations...maybe for Audrey's birthday...

Ben10 cake

This Ben10 cake was a cake for a Ben10 fan who was turning 5. He loves Ben10 so much that he wears Ben10 stuffs everyday...he is so cute.

Nic shares the same birthday with Rachel, this year they celebrated their birthday together. They wanted different themes on the cake but we only wanted a small cake. So I came out with a design of half 'Ben10' and half 'puppy theme'.

The cake was lemon sponge filled with lemon curd and lemon buttercream then covered in fondant. The decorations were made few days ahead so they were completely dry. I cut out Ben10 lettering in black fondant and sticked them onto a neon green backing. Once they were dry, I stucked the piece onto the back of the puppy hut. For the final decorations I finished up the cake with plaque bubbles in neon green. The plaque bubbles were crawling onto the cake and some started to form an alien.

Happy Chinese New Year

These cupcakes were for chinese new year celebration at church. The cupcakes were lemon sponge dipped in lemon jelly and lemoncello then covered in fondant. The rabbits represent the year of rabbit...very straight forward...:-)

Wedding cake

It was a long long break from blogging...I'm all refreshed and ready to start another year with more bakings and decoratings.
Last December, I took a challenging project...it was a huge wedding cake. The cake was dummy in 16" 13" and 10" with 6" high. It was a really hard work...covering a huge cake is not an easy job. It harder than you can imagine. When I took on the project, I thought It wouldn't be too hard. But it was so hard that I got sick of fondant. I was so sick that I didn't even want to touch and smell fondant for almost 2 months...but now I'm back with more fondant works...hehehe still love decorating so much that I just can't get sick enough to throw everythings away.

I used styro dummies for the cake. Using royal icing I stick 2 dummies together to get the height that I wanted then covered in fondant. The bride and groom really like simple and modern cake, so I created this cake with quilted layer in the middle and ivory satin ribbon.

The intial JC was made of cardboard with sparkling powder.

The bride and groom figurine were fondant. It is not easy working with black fondant, it is too soft and sticky and harder to dry. For black fondant, I suggest mix it with chocolate fondant so it won't be too sticky.

Hard work pays off, everyone was happy with the cake. I really want to thank my hubby for helping me with kneading and rolling the fondant...THANK YOU FOR ALWAYS BE THERE WHEN I NEED YOU...
